Job Overview

The Deputy Director, Undergraduate Programmes Office at Nanyang Technology University (NTU) is a key position responsible for providing strategic oversight and operational guidance for all academic and student administrative services to undergraduates. This role drives leadership, innovation, and excellence in delivering high-quality education.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning and Initiatives
    • Support Associate Deans and Assistant Deans in driving curricular innovations and spearheading new initiatives.
    • Review policies, conceptualise frameworks, and formulate strategies to support academic and student life initiatives.
    • Identify, develop, and implement operational plans, monitor key metrics, and assist in decision-making regarding strategies and policies for undergraduate programmes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Engage with key stakeholders such as academic partners, industry associates, professional bodies, and community partners; junior college/polytechnic educators/counselors, employers, and alumni.
    • Interface with programmes and functional offices within NTU, cross-departments, and colleges/schools within NTU and central NTU departments.
    • Serve as a conduit for student, faculty, and industry/community partner feedback on academic and student life matters, actively seeking opportunities to interact with stakeholders to be aware of challenges, issues, and concerns.
  • Programme Management, Operations, and Student Life/Administration
    • Ensure smooth operations and delivery of academic and student services.
    • Provide administrative oversight for the implementation of new programmes and initiatives.
    • Spearhead co-curricular, non-credit bearing student development/enrichment programmes.
    • Oversee logistical and operational management relating to the full value-chain of services to undergraduates.
    • Identify opportunities to innovate and enhance operational efficiency of the department.
