
Mental Health Specialist

Job Description:
As a mental health specialist in a multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting case management of families with obesity. You will be part of a school-based programme and work closely with patients, families, and community partners to provide education and therapy groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor data collection and input for clinical audit of service, formulate guidelines and revise standards and procedures.
- Propose strategies to improve clinical services and implement changes.
- Provide case management, coordinate continuity of inpatient and outpatient care, and initiate treatment plans.
- Coordinate patient care and provide updates to the multidisciplinary team.
- Offer counselling sessions and establish resources for psychoeducation of patients and families.
- Build therapeutic alliances with patients and families for continuity of care.
- Work with patients, families, and community partners to conduct education and therapy groups.
- Participate in research studies and quality improvement projects.
- Facilitate support and therapy groups, workshops, and other activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you must have a degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling, or Postgraduate/Graduate Diploma in relevant fields with 4+ years of experience. You should also possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, analytical and organisational abilities, and be able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
