Job Title: Freight Logistics Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Freight Logistics Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our logistics operations, you will be responsible for maximising vessel profitability by fixing spot cargoes and allocating contract cargoes efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Secure spot cargoes across assigned routes and allocate contract cargoes to available tonnage, ensuring optimal vessel utilisation and commercial returns
  • Liaise with clients to obtain nominations and align schedules with vessel availability
  • Work closely with chartering and operations teams to optimise cargo space, reduce port calls, and ensure overall voyage profitability
  • Maintain accurate voyage records and ensure timely submission of documentation related to cargoes and loading activities
  • Foster strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Stay up to date on market trends and identify commercial opportunities
Requirements
  • 3–5 years of experience in tanker chartering, shipbroking, or commercial operations (liquid bulk preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree required; a background in maritime studies or shipping preferred
  • Familiarity with standard charter party forms and terms
  • Understanding of voyage planning, cargo allocation, and profit optimization in the shipping context
