We are seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join our interdisciplinary team at IDMxS. The successful candidate will work closely with Prof Guillermo Bazan and be responsible for leading research projects and studies to synthesize novel COE antibiotics, working with microbiologists to understand the structure-activity-relationship.
About the RoleThis role requires a PhD in polymer chemistry, organic chemistry, materials science, or a closely related field, along with expertise in polymer synthesis and organic synthesis. The successful candidate will also have experience with material characterization techniques, including NMR, FTIR, GPC, AFM, DLS, DSC, TEM/SEM, UV-vis, and fluorescence spectroscopy.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement research projects to synthesize novel COE antibiotics.
- Collaborate with microbiologists to understand the structural-activity-relationship of COE antibiotics.
- Conduct pharmacological studies with collaborators.
- PhD in polymer chemistry, organic chemistry, materials science, or a closely related field.
- Expertise in polymer synthesis and organic synthesis.
- Experience with material characterization techniques.
- Experience with nanoparticle formulation or polymer self-assembly.
- Experience with developing conjugated polymers/oligomers.
- Experience with developing polymers for biological/pharmacological applications.
- Evidence of research experience in a multi-disciplinary collaborative environment.
- Experience with air-free manipulation and synthesis.
