Job Overview

The Physical Therapy Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the rehabilitation process of residents and clients.

Responsibilities
  • Assist therapists with implementing physical therapy programs, adhering to individualized treatment plans.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, ensuring a hygienic environment for treatments.
  • Conduct basic therapeutic exercises and activities under supervision.
  • Observe and document resident/client progress, reporting findings to physical therapists.
  • Transport residents/clients safely to and from treatment areas.
  • Maintain accurate records of treatment given and supplies used.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as ordering supplies and taking inventory.
  • Support residents/clients with dressing, undressing, and using assistive devices.
  • Participate in staff development programs and contribute to recreational activities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic knowledge of physical therapy principles and practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
