Warehouse Optimization SpecialistRole Overview

The Warehouse Optimization Specialist plays a pivotal role in developing new customers, analyzing customer requirements, and designing warehousing solutions. This position involves project management, cost analysis, and resource allocation.

  • Support the development of new customers by working with existing client contacts or assisting the sales team during RFQs, site visits, and presentations.
  • Analyze customer requirements and facilitate Q&A sessions to ensure accurate understanding.
  • Design and propose warehousing solutions tailored to customer needs, considering factors such as resources, MHE, investments, EDI, automation, and innovation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the IS team to define the best IT solution for the project.
  • Provide cost analysis and rates.
  • Create RFP technical answer documents to present the proposed solution.
  • Project Management: Organize workshops between customer teams, IS, Regional, and Operations/Key Users; analyze and summarize relevant data to support decision-making.
  • Foster effective communication with internal and external customers regarding project advancement.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, transportation, logistics, supply chain management, industrial or mechanical engineering, or a related field (preferably).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • 2-4 years' experience in logistics and supply chain, manufacturing, or a related field, with a focus on detailed knowledge of warehousing and transportation.
  • Data analysis, advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, or equivalent skills.
  • Financial modeling, negotiation with customers and suppliers.
  • Process mapping, labor sizing, handling equipment.
  • Troubleshooting, project management.
  • Knowledge of WMS, OMS, TMS, etc.
  • Drawing and simulation tools: AutoCAD, Sketchup, Class, Flexsim, ProModel, or similar.
  • Proven experience in solution design for warehouses.
  • Experience in complementary areas of implementation, automation, Six Sigma, certification in Lean Manufacturing, operations management (a plus).
  • Able and willing to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, reflecting strong engagement/presentation skills.
  • Ambition to learn and grow knowledge of solutions design.
  • Can-do mentality and positive attitude.
