Quantum Sensing Opportunity
This role offers the chance to develop and integrate quantum sensors for inertial or electromagnetic sensing. You will design sensor subsystems such as optical traps, vacuum and cryogenic systems, magnetic field controllers, or electronics for quantum sensors.
Collaborate with scientists, software engineers, and stakeholders to transition lab devices into operational sensor payloads. This requires a strong background in electronics, RF, lasers, optics, vacuum, or cryogenics, and knowledge of quantum physics is an advantage.
You will also work closely with a team of research scientists and engineers to develop quantum capabilities, translating quantum sensing technologies into practical defence solutions.
The successful candidate will have a PhD/Masters/Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, or Photonics, and proficiency in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and integrate quantum sensors for inertial or electromagnetic sensing
- Design sensor subsystems such as optical traps, vacuum and cryogenic systems, magnetic field controllers, or electronics for quantum sensors
- Collaborate with scientists, software engineers, and stakeholders to transition lab devices into operational sensor payloads
Requirements:
