The Singapore Judicial College aims to be an institute of higher judicial learning, imparting necessary skills and competencies required of a judge today.
This role involves leading the Institute of Judicial Studies (IJS), the research arm of the Singapore Judicial College. The IJS was established in March 2024 and is responsible for undertaking, leading, and facilitating rigorous multi-method research on various issues relevant to the judiciary.
- Lead and drive research initiatives in judicial education.
- Establish collaborations with researchers across allied disciplines on inter-disciplinary research projects relating to judicial education and the justice system.
- Publish research outputs in domestic and international publications, including peer-reviewed journals, books, and online platforms.
- Develop research-led judicial training programmes and an SJC online research repository.
Requirements:
- Professional law degree (Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor).
- Postgraduate qualification in law preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in high-quality academic research performance, research leadership, collaboration, research supervision, development, and implementation of research strategy.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability with ability to lead, motivate, and support a team.
- Analytical, critical, and independent thinking skills.
