Oracle Database Specialist Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust database administration solutions, including resource management, security, backup and recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, data management and capacity planning, multi-threading and parallelism, and failover between database instances.

You will provide architectural oversight for any implementation, recommendation or changes in supported environments initiated through periodic reviews, audits conducted by internal delivery assurance groups or by client-initiated audits or requests.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing database administration solutions that meet the needs of our business.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to other team members as needed.
  • Participating in new implementation projects and preparing pre-implementation plans for such projects.
  • Analyzing, solving, and correcting issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related fields and a minimum of 10 years of experience in DBA who has worked on Oracle and any other RDBMS is required. You should possess hands-on experience in building databases, writing database code like functions, procedures, stored procedures, triggers etc. Working experience on Oracle RAC & Data Guard is a must.

A strong experience with performance optimization and tuning with database applications is also a must. Complete architectural knowledge on Oracle Database engines is required. Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication is necessary. Ability to detect and troubleshoot Oracle Server-related CPU, Memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contention is essential.
