Aircraft maintenance specialists are responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft systems, components, and structures. Their duties involve inspecting and examining aircraft components to identify potential issues such as leaks, cracks, breaks, or other damage. They must also interpret technical specifications and diagrams to inform installation, development, or operation activities.
Additionally, they perform routine maintenance operations, including the replacement of equipment and aircraft components. This may involve using illustrated parts catalogues, service bulletins, and other maintenance documents to troubleshoot and complete work assignments.
Key Responsibilities:- Inspect and examine aircraft components for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction.
- Identify and report any defects or malfunctions to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations.
- Use technical documentation to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
- Minimum ITE holder or GCE 'O' Level or Aerospace Engineering degree.
- At least 5 years of experience in practical and documented aircraft maintenance.
- Knowledge of aircraft systems, including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components.
- Understanding of safety protocols and procedures, including hazardous materials handling and emergency response.
