Job Title: Vice President of Academic Partnerships for APAC

The position requires a senior leader to develop and execute a commercial publishing strategy across the Asia Pacific region, driving regional content acquisition and building partnerships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Research Services Growth: Lead efforts to increase researcher services content growth, KOL acquisition, and influence in APAC, ensuring performance and objective attainment in line with strategic objectives.
  • Lead Senior Team: Inspire and coach a high-level senior team to ensure high engagement, delivery of objectives, and a culture of high performance.
  • Establish Relationships: Develop, maintain, and expand high-level relationships with key APAC customer groups, including researchers, research key opinion leaders, funders, societies, institutions, and government bodies.
  • Market Feedback: Provide market feedback to company leadership regarding competitive offerings and regional market trends, generating product and services development ideas.
  • Monitor and Report: Monitor and report on KPIs, including revenue, costs, overheads, usage, and user behaviors, to inform future strategic development.
  • Budget Development: Develop and report on budgets and forecasts for the current year and against three-year plans.
  • Brand Development: Continuously develop the company brand and profile, increasing awareness through representing the company at events globally as required.
Requirements:
  • STM/Research Publishing Experience: Significant experience in the STM/research publishing space.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Commercial Focus: Strong commercial focus and experience in managing the P&L within a strategic business unit.
  • Strategic Issues: Firm grasp of strategic issues affecting the global research sector.
  • Content Delivery: Proven track record in developing, managing, and implementing content delivery for a global publishing business.
  • Change Management: Significant experience of managing change.
  • Budget Management: Experience of managing significant budgets.
  • Market Assessment: Extensive capability in assessing market conditions, looking externally, and adapting business priorities dependent on macro and micro factors.

Location: APAC/Singapore
Salary: Excellent Basic + 25% Bonus
