Therapy Aide: Supporting Therapists in Patient Care

Job Description

As a Therapy Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting therapists in providing high-quality patient care. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting therapists in assessment, treatment plan development, and progress review. You will also evaluate, monitor, and review treatment plans to ensure they are appropriate and effective.

In this role, you will conduct group therapeutic exercises and individualized rehabilitation treatments under the supervision of therapists. You will work closely with the healthcare team to discuss resident-related issues and provide updates on their progress to caregivers and family members.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that all equipment and therapy tools are in good working order and maintaining proper inventory of therapy equipment and fixtures through regular servicing and replacement.

Maintaining self-development through continuing education is essential in this role, as you will guide, supervise, and train caregivers and volunteers on their performance of duties and implementation of social and recreational activities for residents.

Additionally, you will provide training for caregivers in preparation for residents' discharge back into their home environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare support or related field
  • WSQ Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care)
  • ITE Approved Training Centre (ATC) Healthcare (Home Care) Programme
