Data Center Critical Facilities Engineer

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Data Center Critical Facilities Engineer to join our operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and evolving critical infrastructure that powers the digital world.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain facility infrastructure and perform site inspections;
  • Monitor building and data center alarms and ensure preventative maintenance on primary infrastructures;
  • Complete repairs and supervise vendors' corrective maintenance on equipment;
  • Prepare and carry out planned maintenance and maintain site logs for permits;
  • Assist more senior staff with responding to on-site incidents and act as directed;
  • May begin responding to basic incidents based on own knowledge and experience;
  • Complete basic work requests and circuit installations;
  • Participate in ongoing infrastructure projects and carry out small works projects (e.g., lighting upgrades).

Capabilities:

  • Solves complex, cross-functional issues and conducts root cause analysis;
  • Identifies underlying issues and differentiates key elements from irrelevant details;
  • Applies simple root cause analysis;
  • Reviews electrical one-lines and construction drawings;
  • Develops SOWs for routine processes and projects;
  • Performs installations and configurations of control systems;
  • Applies safe working practices (e.g., lockout/tagout);
  • Works with cross-functional teams and external resources as needed;
  • Diagnoses advanced technical issues using equipment analysis and applies rectification actions;

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required;
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance;
  • Desired Skills (either/or): Previous data center / critical environment experience, comprehensive knowledge of critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, life safety systems), low voltage power planning and troubleshooting, controls or BMS experience – Allen-Bradley PLC, Rockwell, Electrical or low voltage state contractor license.
