System Administrator Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join our team.

  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Splunk services across all environments.
  • Maintain and monitor Splunk infrastructure, including Search Heads, Indexers, Forwarders, Deployment Servers, Cluster Masters, and more.
  • Ensure uptime and system health through proactive monitoring, tuning, log analysis, and performance management.
  • Manage indexing performance, storage usage, and data lifecycle to optimize system efficiency.
  • Verify and troubleshoot log ingestion from agents (forwarders) and external sources like CloudWatch and syslog servers.
  • Integrate Splunk with Authority's systems for real-time monitoring and alerts on infrastructure issues.
  • Fine-tune Splunk rules and develop or validate custom parsers as requested.
  • Support SOC operations for threat detection, auditing, and incident response.
  • Rotate privileged and service accounts regularly.

• Strong understanding of Splunk architecture and its components.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a distributed team.
