
Experienced Kitchen Leader

As a skilled and experienced Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in the success of our kitchen team. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Support the Head Chef: Work closely with the Head Chef to manage day-to-day kitchen operations, maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.
- Cooking and Menu Planning: Assist in planning and preparing meals, including menu development and execution, using new and current culinary techniques.
- Team Management: Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, promoting a culture of teamwork, respect, and open communication.
- Kitchen Organization: Maintain a well-organized and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring that all equipment, tools, and ingredients are readily available and properly stored.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular checks to ensure that food meets our high standards, making adjustments as needed to maintain exceptional quality.
- Maintenance and Equipment: Oversee maintenance and repairs of cooking equipment, ensuring that it is always in good working order.
- Purchasing and Inventory: Assist in purchasing, storing, and handling all food products and materials within budget constraints, minimizing waste and maximizing profit.
- Employee Development: Support the growth and development of junior staff members, providing guidance and training to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all kitchen staff are aware of and adhere to relevant regulations, including food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Education: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts or Science, Business, or relevant fields.
- Experience: Three to five years of experience as a Sous Chef, preferably in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Qualifications: Completed the WSQ Basic Food Hygiene Course – Food Safety Course Levels 1 and 2, updated in control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) regulations, and hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP) methods.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, quick learning ability, logical problem-solving skills, business acumen, and excellent communication skills.
