Investment Analyst Career Development Program

The Point72 Academy is a prestigious training program designed to introduce candidates to the world of investment analysis.

Candidates will undergo a rigorous 10-month training period, during which they will develop sophisticated research and analysis skills, including company analysis, modeling, statistics, accounting, financial modeling, data analysis, coding, and compliance training.

Upon successful completion of the program, candidates will have the opportunity to interview for an equity research analyst role at Point72, where they will work closely with their portfolio manager and team to develop a deep understanding of companies across industries and around the world.

Candidates should possess superior analytical skills, demonstrated through work experience and/or graduate education in fields such as finance, law, philosophy, economics, history, political science, journalism, humanities, or liberal arts.

They should also be able to learn quickly, as well as demonstrate a passion for problem-solving, strong written and verbal communication skills, a commitment to ethics and integrity, self-motivation, maturity, and eagerness to learn.

Key responsibilities include developing financial models, performing fundamental research, attending industry events, interacting with sell-side research analysts and sales professionals, and analyzing compliant data sets.

  • Financial Modeling: Develop sophisticated financial models to understand the businesses being covered and how they are changing.
  • Fundamental Research: Perform fundamental research, attend industry events, interact with sell-side research analysts and sales professionals, and analyze compliant data sets.
  • Portfolio Management: Work closely with your portfolio manager and team to develop a deep understanding of companies across industries and around the world.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English, as well as high levels of self-motivation and a willingness to learn and adapt.
