Job Title: Senior Duty Engineer

IBIS SINGAPORE ON BENCOOLEN is seeking a highly skilled Senior Duty Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Chief Engineer/Assistant Chief Engineer in the daily operation of the department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the hotel's facilities and equipment to identify any potential issues or areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
  • Source and procure spare parts and materials as needed, ensuring that all purchases are within budget and meet the hotel's quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all maintenance and repair work is completed with minimal disruption to hotel operations.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of tools and equipment, ensuring that all items are properly stored and maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, including fire safety and emergency procedures.
  • Develop and implement procedures for routine checks and maintenance of all facilities and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with the hotel's management team to develop and implement strategies for improving energy efficiency and reducing waste.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive record of all maintenance and repair work, including dates, times, and details of work completed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or facilities management environment.
  • ITE/Nitec Certificate in Building Facilities Maintenance, Electrical/Electronics, and Air Conditioning servicing.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external contractors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and satisfaction.
