Job Description

As a staff software engineer, you will play a key role in developing innovative software solutions that enable our organisation to effectively manage information and workflows.

You will work closely with highly motivated and talented peers consisting of software engineers, devops engineers and ui/ux designers to design and implement secure and high-quality software products through the adoption of good industrial practices.

As a technical leader, you will oversee and mentor teams of technical personnel to develop and deploy software products that meet business goals and strategies.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about building right solutions and cultivating good software engineering practices within the team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design technically sound software products that meet business goals.

2. Lead the design, development and operation of software products in organisation units.

3. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software teams and other stakeholders to help them make the best possible technical decisions.

4. Ensure the results and quality of different software solutions and projects implemented in the organisation.

5. Collaborate closely with other software product teams to integrate systems across business functions seamlessly.

6. Be a technical mentor to help junior engineers grow in their engineering career.

Requirements (Minimum Qualifications)

A good degree in engineering or computer science, with at least 6 years of relevant experience.

Strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.

Well-versed and proficient in software design and implementation using modern tools and frameworks.

Strong understanding of software security best practices.

Experience with agile development methodologies, including scrum or kanban.

Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues.

At least 3 years of experience in technical leadership role leading software teams and setting technical direction.
