Investment Associate - Carbon Markets

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced investment associate to join our team, specializing in carbon markets. As an investment associate, you will play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, executing, and managing investments for the carbon ecosystem enablers pillar.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify and evaluate investment opportunities, deal execution, and managing portfolio companies to drive value creation.

Responsibilities
  • Investment Sourcing & Evaluation

Identify and screen investment opportunities across the carbon market and broader decarbonisation value chain, leveraging your strong industry networks to support origination and deal sourcing.

Conduct thorough due diligence, including financial modelling, unit economics analysis, valuation, and benchmarking, to inform investment decisions.

Presentation of recommendations to the investment committee is also expected.

  • Deal Execution

Lead or support transaction execution, including structuring, negotiations, documentation, and closing processes.

Collaborate with internal teams throughout the deal lifecycle to ensure seamless execution.

  • Portfolio Management

Monitor portfolio company performance and support their strategic and operational initiatives to drive value creation.

Work closely with management teams and other shareholders to develop business plans that align with organisational goals.

  • Strategic Initiatives / Ecosystem Management

Contribute to the development of investment strategy and portfolio construction, as well as thought leadership initiatives.

Represent the organisation at industry events and foster strong partnerships with ecosystem stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
  • MBA or relevant graduate degree is a plus.
  • 6 – 10+ years of experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or corporate development.
  • Climate or sustainability-related experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with carbon markets, climate tech, or broader decarbonisation areas.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and collaboration.
