Job Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Hospitality Lecturer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences, assisting in developing schemes of work and lesson plans, establishing clear objectives for all learning activities, preparing the classroom, providing learning materials and resources, instructing students in the use of learning materials and equipment, using relevant technology to support instruction, observing and evaluating student performance, assigning and grading classwork and homework, setting and marking exam papers, providing feedback on work, encouraging individual students' progress, maintaining accurate records of students' progress, updating records as required by law and school policies, and preparing required reports on students and activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that promote active learning.
  2. Contribute to the development of schemes of work and lesson plans.
  3. Set clear objectives for all learning activities.
  4. Prioritize the preparation of the classroom environment.
  5. Source and provide a variety of learning materials and resources.
  6. Select and utilize different instructional resources and methods to cater to students' diverse needs.
  7. Monitor students' use of learning materials and equipment.
  8. Leverage technology to enhance instructional support.
  9. Evaluate and assess student performance and development.
  10. Assign and grade classwork, homework, exams, and other assessments.
  11. Provide constructive feedback on work submitted.
  12. Maintain open communication with individual students regarding their progress.
  13. Keep accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hospitality/Tourism/Hotel Management is essential.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
  • ACTA / ACLP / SDALT teaching qualifications would be beneficial.
  • Strong passion for teaching and sharing industry experience.
  • Ability to stay current with best practices in education and learning strategies.
  • Familiarity with Edutrust Certification is advantageous.
