Job Description

The role of Senior Communications Specialist involves defining and implementing a strategic communications plan that aligns with the organization's objectives.

  • Develop key messages, draft media releases, and prepare other media materials to effectively communicate the organization's vision and goals.
  • Pitch stories, secure interviews, and handle media queries to build strong relationships with editors and journalists.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage to provide relevant communications insights to management.

Crisis communications is also a critical aspect of this role, requiring the ability to manage communications during a crisis.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for other administrative support tasks such as compiling media headlines, maintaining communications calendars, and coordinating internal emergency preparedness communications training.
