Service Engineer - Cargo Opportunity

An exciting role awaits at KONGSBERG Maritime, reporting to a designated supervisor. As a Service Engineer - Cargo Specialist, you will leverage your expertise to contribute to strategic projects, driving innovative solutions for the business.

This position involves liaising between main office and customers from South-East Asia, Oceania, and other parts of the world on all aspects of pre-commissioning/commissioning, maintenance, and operation of Kongsberg's Sensing Solution product range, particularly Tank gauging / Cargo monitor and Machinery Instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Focus on customer support, commissioning, and service on assigned Kongsberg Maritime Sensing Solution product range.
  • Proper preparation of work and execution of work ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards.
  • Liaison between customers and main office on all aspects of pre-commissioning/commissioning, maintenance, and operation of the systems.
  • Technical manning on desk/mobile device for remote support as required by KM Global Customer Support worldwide framework.
  • Maintain good relationships with existing clients.

Technical Expertise

  • Responsible for generating service reports, updating drawings, cable information database, and other requirements and client needs.

Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution

  • Workshop testing and technical preparation to mitigate potential problems if any.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Liaison between customers and main office on all aspects of pre-commissioning/commissioning, maintenance, and operation of the systems.
  • Technical manning on desk/mobile device for remote support as required by KM Global Customer Support worldwide framework.
  • Maintain good relationships with existing clients.

Adhoc Duties and Continuous Improvement

  • Perform any adhoc tasks or assignments as assigned by supervisors or team leads to support project goals and team objectives.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the engineering domain to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

This role will cover South-East Asia, Oceania, and possibly other parts of the world.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma Certificate in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 1-year relevant experience in customer service (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of technical hands-on experience in the maritime industry with background in automation, navigation, bridge, or minimum 1-year technical hands-on experience with Tank gauging/Cargo monitoring system (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of technical experience with marine/offshore environmental sensors.
  • Experience on project management and commissioning of new deliveries will be an added advantage.

This employment may require obtaining relevant statutory and government requirements and documentation essential for legal employment.
