Position Overview:
As an AWS Cloud Operations Support L2 Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering technical assistance and troubleshooting for AWS cloud services and infrastructure. Your collaboration with the operations team, system administrators, and developers will be vital to ensure seamless functionality and peak performance of AWS environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver second-level technical support for incidents and service requests concerning AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Analyze and resolve issues within AWS environments, focusing on networking, storage, compute, database, and security aspects.
  • Work alongside L1 support engineers to ensure prompt resolution of customer inquiries and escalations.
  • Manage incidents effectively, adhering to established protocols for ticket handling, resolution, and documentation.
  • Monitor AWS infrastructure and services to detect and address performance issues, security risks, and capacity limitations.
  • Establish and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and mitigate potential challenges.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Assist in the deployment and configuration of AWS services, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, RDS databases, and VPC networking.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to define and implement best practices for managing and optimizing AWS infrastructure.
  • Stay informed about AWS product updates, new features, and emerging technologies to offer effective support and guidance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AWS cloud services, infrastructure, and core concepts, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation.
  • Experience in troubleshooting AWS-related issues, encompassing networking, security, storage, and performance.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems administration and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and ELK Stack.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and experience with incident management, problem management, and change management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified Developer, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
