About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Currie & Brown. As a key member of our construction consultancy, you will play a critical role in providing expert advice and services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pre and post-contract services, including feasibility studies, cost estimates, commercial advice, and value engineering.
  • Carry out project feasibility assessments and assess design, preparing cost plans and budget estimates.
  • Estimate costs, analyze risks, and control costs, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Undertake responsibility for tendering and procurement management and contract administration.
  • Prepare tender documents and undertake tender analysis, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible value for their investment.
  • Prepare monthly valuations and financial statements, providing our clients with accurate and timely information.
  • Prepare and negotiate final accounts, ensuring that all parties are satisfied with the outcome.
  • Manage other quantity surveyors as required, providing guidance and support to ensure that our team is working efficiently and effectively.
  • Actively participate in internal forums, training, and social events, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Lead and contribute to the commercial interests and aspirations of the company and your business unit, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Assist with the identification and conversion of new business development opportunities, preparing submissions and proposals to secure new clients and projects.
  • Promote the company values at all times, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and professionalism in all aspects of your work.

Requirements

  • Degree in quantity surveying or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of eight years' technical delivery experience gained within a global construction consultancy, with exposure in semicon, data centre, logistic, and infrastructure projects.
  • Well-developed technical skills, including preparing tender documents, estimates, and cost plans, measurement from drawings, etc.
  • Passionate about quantity surveying and furthering your career with a leading property consultancy.
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, using your initiative and judgment to resolve complex problems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with measurement tools such as CostX and CADMeasure, desirable.
