Software Development Leadership Opportunity

Job Description:

As a seasoned software development manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of cutting-edge containerized applications and leading the migration of existing VM-based software components to modern containerized platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Design and architect scalable containerized applications that meet service-level agreements (SLA).
  • Lead the migration of existing VM-based software components to containerized platforms.
  • Establish and enforce software development best practices, including documentation, unit testing, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and security.
  • Mentor and manage a small team of offshore developers.
  • Oversee integration with messaging platforms, databases, and front-end delivery.
  • Drive software development life cycle (SDLC) processes and promote excellence in engineering, ensuring high-quality code, secure coding standards, and timely delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • At least 8 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership position.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Node.js, OpenShift/Kubernetes, Docker/Podman, messaging platforms, Oracle DB, SQL, JDBC, REST APIs, WebSocket, SSO, and Web cache.
  • Proven experience in system design, effort estimation, and architecture in complex enterprise systems.
  • Experience migrating VM-based applications to containers.
  • Familiarity with mobile web delivery using Flutter/Dart and server-driven UI rendering.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and leading distributed development teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice to Have:

The following qualifications are desirable:

  • Red Hat OpenShift and/or Kubernetes certification.
  • Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of container security and compliance practices.
  • Knowledge of security testing practices and remediations.
