This role is a pivotal position within our organization, focused on providing expert legal guidance on matters related to data center operations.
The Legal Counsel will ensure that the company's data center activities align with legal requirements while supporting business growth and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Negotiation & Drafting:
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts related to data center operations, including colocation agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), vendor and procurement contracts, construction and lease agreements, cloud and IT infrastructure contracts.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Advise on compliance with data protection laws.
- Monitor evolving regulations affecting data centers.
- Support permitting and environmental compliance for data center construction/expansion.
- Risk Management & Dispute Resolution:
- Identify legal risks in data center operations and propose mitigation strategies.
- Manage litigation, disputes, and investigations involving data centers.
- Work with internal teams on incident response.
Requirements:
- Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree; admission to the state bar.
- Experience:
- 7+ years of legal experience, preferably with a focus on data centers, technology, real estate, or infrastructure.
