Job Role: Science Laboratory Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to support our Science Department as a laboratory assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and clean Science lab environment, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, arrange for repairs, and care for fauna and flora in the Science Department.
  • Document and summarize lab information accurately, assist teachers with Science-related tasks, and provide guidance on workflow procedures.
  • Prepare materials for lessons, apparatus, and materials for internal performance tasks, and assist in invigilation of practical exams.
  • Support teachers in Science events, maintain stock records and equipment lists, and work with Science level representatives to prepare materials for lessons.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working in a primary school Science laboratory.
  • Strong skills in lab equipment operation, chemical preparation, disposal procedures, and hazardous spill response.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Detailed and organized approach to work.
