Job Title:Executive Chef and Kitchen Supervisor

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have experience as a chef in a commercial kitchen setting with knowledge of North Indian cuisine. The Executive Chef and Kitchen Supervisor will be responsible for the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all meals to customers. They must also ensure that the kitchen and service areas are clean and tidy at all times.


Responsibilities:
  • Prepare ingredients by following recipes, slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients, adding seasonings, verifying taste, and plating meals.
  • Complete hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and boiling ingredients and assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients.
  • Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, maintain temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required, and maintain appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
  • Contribute to daily, holiday, and theme menus in collaboration with supervisors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas.
  • Complete cleaning according to daily and weekly schedules and dishwashing/pot washing.
  • Listen to customer complaints and suggestions and resolve complaints.
  • Implement suggestions within parameters of position and refer more complex concerns to supervisors.
  • Participate in and/or contribute to programs, committees, or projects designed to improve quality of service and employee productivity.
  • Maintain clean work areas, utensils, and equipment.
  • Develop new menu items while improvising existing ones.
  • Manage kitchen expenses, food cost, inventory, and staffing within budgetary limits.
  • Able to cook North Indian food.
  • Able to do shift work.
