Job Description

The unmanned systems sector is witnessing exponential growth globally, driven by advancements in emerging technologies such as Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and electric-Vertical Take-Off and Landing (e-VTOL) aircraft. In response to this trend, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is developing strategies to harness the potential of unmanned systems for the country's benefit.

To achieve this goal, the Unmanned Systems Technology, Engineering and Planning (UTEP) Division has been established to oversee the development of UAS capabilities in Singapore. As a key member of this division, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of unmanned systems technology in the region.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring emerging trends and developments in the unmanned systems sector, conducting technical risk assessments, and identifying opportunities for research and development. You will also be responsible for coordinating with stakeholders, including other government agencies, industry partners, and research institutions, to drive the growth of the UAS sector in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and assess key emerging trends and developments in unmanned systems technologies
  • Conduct technical risk assessments on emerging technologies
  • Identify opportunities for research and development
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to drive the growth of the UAS sector in Singapore
  • Manage key accounts within the UAS industry
  • Partner with economic agencies to engage foreign unmanned systems companies
  • Develop a manpower transformation map for the UAS industry in Singapore
  • Drive innovation and technology development through partnerships with educational institutes, research institutes, and industry
  • Engage community stakeholders to develop physical and digital infrastructure for recreational and commercial UAS operations
