Job Opportunity: Become a Big Data Engineer and Contribute to Large-Scale System Development

The data management team at our company is focused on creating solutions that handle the entire big data pipeline, from ingestion and integration to development, cataloging, security, and governance. Our mission is to design, build, optimize, and scale one of the largest data platforms in the world.

As a software engineer in the data management suite team, you will have the chance to develop and refine core systems within the data platform ecosystem. This role requires hands-on experience with various technologies and tools.

We are looking for a skilled system engineer who can work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals. The ideal candidate will have experience working with big data-related systems, knowledge of site reliability engineering, monitoring, and alerting, and expertise in writing code in languages such as Java, Go, Python, or similar.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing reliable, scalable, robust, and extensible big data systems, maintaining services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health, and practicing sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.

Our team uses a variety of strategies for ingesting, modeling, processing, and persisting data, including ETL design, job scheduling, and dimensional modeling. Experience with cloud-native technologies and networking is also beneficial.
