Chinese News and Video Content Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a creative and experienced Chinese news and video content specialist to join our team. As a key member of our content creation department, you will be responsible for researching, scripting, shooting, and editing engaging video content that resonates with the Chinese community in Singapore.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Pitching, researching, and producing high-quality video content related to news and current affairs with a special focus on topics that interest the Chinese community in Singapore.
  2. Scripting, filming, and editing mobile-first videos optimized for social media platforms.
  3. Developing innovative formats such as street interviews, explainer videos, and mini-documentaries.
  4. Managing and executing the pre and post-production of videos, including researching visual and sound content, filming on location, editing videos, creating graphics, and archiving footage.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  1. A strong diploma or degree in journalism and/or film/video production, preferably with 3-4 years of experience in the industry.
  2. Intermediate or advanced skills in videography, video editing, and motion graphics.
  3. Effective bilingualism in Chinese and English to support our Chinese online platform.
  4. A deep understanding of the Singapore Chinese community's interests, pain points, and culture.
  5. Strong research skills and basic knowledge of social media analytics to gather information, analyze data, and identify key angles for stories.
  6. Proficiency in mobile filming and editing apps, with the ability to create captivating visuals and text overlays.
  7. Competency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator.
  8. An analytical mindset and effective problem-solving skills.
  9. The ability to adapt quickly to different work environments and work irregular hours when necessary.
