As an Engineering Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for leading a multi-skilled team of engineers to deliver software engineering solutions, aligning team capability to meet customer expectations. You will also lead technical reviews, workshops, peer reviews, and project reviews as appropriate for the program. Additionally, you will prepare and lead the monthly TFR and support the WPPR.

You will communicate, analyse, plan, and report as necessary to align team capability and customer expectations. You will also identify/review risks, proposing effective solutions; executing mitigation actions and reporting on outcomes/cost savings and residual risks. Furthermore, you will define and tailor the software engineering environment and process, practices, and tools applicable to the project.

As an Engineering Delivery Manager, you will provide guidance to technical teams with regard to engineering matters aligned to the agreed architecture, ensuring effectiveness whilst meeting customer requirements. You will also ensure the timely delivery of software releases in support of the integration and test program. In addition, you will promote knowledge sharing and ensuring that work is captured sufficiently for re-use across projects.

You will provide support to bids, produce/review engineering cost estimates for any modification proposals to the functional baseline. You will also provide support during the analysis of customers' requirements to propose and negotiate win-win solution responses with customers based in Australia and worldwide. Furthermore, you will ensure clear communications (written and verbal) with external customers.

Key qualifications for this role include a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or other relevant qualification. Essential experience includes solid experience of managing the development of real-time distributed complex software-centric solutions in a safety-critical environment.

Additionally, you should have solid experience in the total lifecycle of complex software development, including processes and responsibilities at each stage in the cycle. Solid knowledge and experience in Systems Engineering lifecycle (e.g. EIA632, ISO/IEC15288) are also essential. You should possess advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders across a complex environment.

Solid experience of leading and mentoring teams of multi-skilled engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment, is also required. Experience in upskilling and training new engineers, managing software development projects using Agile methodologies, and driving iterative development processes are desirable.

Financial/budgetary management of engineering work packages or tasks, strong ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including Project, Engineering Delivery Managers, Product Owners, Technical Design Authorities, Specialty engineers, and the engineering team under management are required. Experience working with collaboration tools including Jira, Confluence etc., is also desirable.

Air Traffic Management domain expertise, experience in product delivery using agile methodologies like Lean methods (including PDCA, Kanban, Value-Stream Mapping); prior experience working Agile @ Scale framework is a bonus. Programming/scripting languages such as Java, C++, Ada, Python, Bash, experience working in a Linux/Unix development environment are also desirable.
