Coastal Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Coastal Researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our research team to conduct comprehensive reviews of existing methodologies, develop new research plans, and compile data for statistical analyses.

  • Job Description:
  • We are looking for a researcher who can assist in the preparation of academic outputs, including literature searches, manuscript preparation, and drafting progress reports and final research reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in geoscience, coastal engineering, environmental science, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong understanding of coastal hazards, particularly sea level rise, storm surge, and tsunami processes.
  • Proven experience in conducting literature reviews and meta-analyses, with excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB) and familiarity with probabilistic modelling concepts used in coastal hazards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and contribute to academic publications.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet research deadlines.
