Community Support Specialist

Fei Yue Community Services' Home Team Community Assistance & Referral Scheme (HT Cares) aims to enhance community safety and support.

Our work involves assessing and identifying criminogenic social needs, facilitating referrals to relevant social services, and creating a supportive environment that promotes rehabilitation and lowers the demand for future investigations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing information and referral services for offenders, ex-offenders, and/or their next of kin
  • Conducting risk assessments, social investigations, case formulation, intervention planning
  • Preparing and submitting timely reports and case recordings
  • Conducting meetings, sessions, workshops, and programs with offenders, ex-offenders, and/or their next of kin
  • Covering office duties at various centers

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work or Degree with a Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution
  • At least two years of experience working in a similar setting
  • Comfortable working with offenders and ex-offenders in Police and Prison settings
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment
  • Required to work on weeknights and weekends on a needs basis
  • Has maturity, communication skills, and interpersonal skills to work with professionals and families from diverse backgrounds
  • Able to develop empathy and empathic responses, reflective capacity, self-awareness
  • Adaptive with multi-tasking skills and problem-solving skills
  • Personal effectiveness, independence, and good time management
  • Strong writing skills
  • Team player
