Job Opportunity: Marine Superintendent

This is an exceptional opportunity to join our organization as a Marine Superintendent. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of oil tankers.

The role involves conducting internal audits, investigating incidents, and reviewing safety protocols. You will also be responsible for following up on vessels calling critical ports, reviewing work permits, and carrying out shipboard and shore-based training.

In addition, you will assist with revisions of QHSE manuals and preparation of new QHSE manuals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct shipboard Internal audits / QHSE Inspections as required;
  • Investigate Incident / near miss investigation as required;
  • Review minutes of the shipboard safety committee meetings / Masters Review;
  • Review and approve risk assessments as required;
  • Assist various departments in the Management of Change process and upkeep of the documentation;

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience as Master on Oil Tanker the relevant type of vessel being recruited for;
  • Sailed as Master Mariner;
  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma or equivalent in Navigation/Internationally recognized shipping degree/qualification;
  • Basic knowledge of Energy Management Systems and/or energy conservation methods is an advantage;

  • Strong leadership and management skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Knowledge of QHSE policies and procedures;
  • Familiarity with International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations;
