The World Bank Group is seeking a seasoned Regional Communications Strategist to lead communications efforts in the Asia Pacific region. This is a pivotal role that requires exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills.

About the Job

This position is based in Singapore and reports to the Regional Communications Manager in Paris. As a key member of the Regional Communications Unit, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that supports business development and promotes IFC's impact in the region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of communications professionals to deliver high-quality communications products and services across the region.
  • Developing issue briefs, stakeholder engagement plans, talking points, and reactive messaging/holding statements for both internal and external use.
  • Ensuring consistency and harmonization across communications in Asia Pacific, identifying opportunities for regional narratives and approaches.
  • Building and nurturing networks with key audiences, including media, corporate executives, civil society, academia, government agencies, World Bank, and UN representatives.

You will work closely with operational teams, including Regional Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managers, to ensure that communications activities support business development. You will also participate in operational retreats and meetings to inform communications strategies.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, International Relations, Public Affairs, Marketing, or Business/Finance, with 12-15 years of experience in corporate communications, international relations, government relations, public affairs, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as a fluent English speaker, with other languages an asset.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to design and execute ambitious campaigns positively impacting stakeholders' perceptions.
  • Ability to identify critical issues and turn them into concise messages for various audiences.
  • Understanding of IFC's business model and private sector development issues, with a clear vision of how effective communications can support operational delivery.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and qualifications.
