Streaming Architect Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Streaming Architect to lead large-scale migration projects using Kafka. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in architecting resilient streaming environments and guiding organizations through complex migration journeys.

  • Develop and execute end-to-end Kafka migration strategies, ensuring seamless transitions with minimal downtime.
  • Design and optimize Kafka clusters for scalability, high availability, and security, utilizing tools such as MirrorMaker2 and Terraform.
  • Integrate Kafka with downstream systems via Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and CDC pipelines.
  • Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) deployments for upgrades and operations.
  • Establish observability and performance management using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and other monitoring tools.
  • Define and enforce governance, access controls, and schema evolution best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure sustainable Kafka adoption.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading Kafka migrations between enterprise-managed platforms and open-source Apache Kafka.
  • Strong knowledge of Kafka architecture, scaling, operations, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency with migration and replication tools, such as MirrorMaker2 and Replicator.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and CI/CD for Kafka environments.
  • Solid understanding of security and compliance principles, including ACLs, RBAC, encryption, and IAM integration.
  • Familiarity with Kafka ecosystem tools, such as Connect, Schema Registry, and CDC.
