Chief Data Governance Officer

About the Role:

• We are seeking an experienced leader to establish a robust data governance implementation roadmap for a Cushman and Wakefield client.
• This individual will develop and implement a comprehensive Data Governance framework, policies, and procedures based on the client's business requirements.
• The role involves close collaboration with data domain owners and members of the client's Data Governance Office/Working Group to support the implementation of data governance.
• Another key responsibility is developing and maintaining data governance documentation, including data dictionaries, business glossaries, playbooks, and data catalogues.
• The successful candidate will lead metadata management activities to ensure data dictionaries and glossaries are up-to-date, and data assets are fully curated and accessible in a data catalogue.
• Collaboration with business units is required to capture and define metadata attributes, such as data lineage, definitions, and business rules.
• The role also involves coordinating with business units and technology teams to ensure alignment and adherence to data governance principles.
• Another key aspect is developing and implementing data quality strategies to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data assets.
• The successful candidate may be required to develop tools or automated solutions where needed to support data cleanse activities.
• Identifying and assessing data-related risks and developing mitigation strategies are also key responsibilities.
• The role involves defining and monitoring data governance metrics and data quality metrics.
• Defining and enforcing data standards, guidelines, and best practices are critical to success.
• Overseeing data stewardship activities, including data issue resolution, data lineage, and data ownership assignments, is another key aspect.
• Cross-functional team collaboration is essential to drive data governance initiatives and ensure data integrity and compliance.
• Staying up to date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to data governance is vital.
• The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement in data governance processes and practices.
• Collaborating with client leadership to articulate the value and benefits of data governance to stakeholders is crucial.
• Providing ongoing leadership, coaching, mentoring, and other development opportunities for team members, as well as conducting performance reviews with direct reports, is also a key responsibility.

About You:

• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a relevant discipline such as information management, mathematics/statistics, business information systems is required.
• A minimum of 10-12 years of experience in the domain, specifically in leading engagements with senior stakeholders on data governance, designing and establishing data governance frameworks, and cultivating a data-driven culture.
• Expert skills in Agile/Program Management, Metadata Management, Reference Data Management, Data Quality, Stakeholder Management, Communications & Training are essential.
• Intermediate skills in DataIKU, Master Data Management, Data Security, Data Sovereignty, Risk Management, and foundational knowledge in Tableau are also required.
