Mould Design Management Opportunities

Job Description

This position involves leading mould design innovation, leveraging the expertise of global teams to develop robust technical solutions and drive business excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement process optimization initiatives to improve lead time, cost, and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables meet specifications and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Drive improvement in mould design execution at suppliers, ensuring alignment with internal standards and best practices.
  • Analyse team performance and propose solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Evaluate mould designs for manufacturability and assembly, ensuring a strong focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Document learnings from design errors and update contractor capabilities accordingly.
  • Provide specialist support to production, mould qualification, and other departments to achieve overall productivity goals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in plastic injection mould design.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD systems and 3D design, preferably Siemens NX.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating with remote teams.
  • Able to think strategically and make informed decisions.
  • Experience working with LEAN principles and ability to motivate others towards continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of moulding processes and plastic materials.
