The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing advanced electrochemical systems, including 3D nanofiber networks synthesized via electrospinning technology and ultrathin, lightweight ceramic-in-polymer composite membranes for high-performance solid-state batteries.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and characterize nanocarbon/sulfur composite cathodes for Li-ion batteries
- Characterize and optimize freestanding membrane-based electrolytes specifically for Li-ion battery applications
- Fabricate coin cells for Lithium-ion batteries using both liquid and solid electrolytes
- Assemble and electrochemically test pouch cell prototypes
- Analyze cell failure mechanisms and perform root cause analysis to ensure long-term battery stability and performance
- Ph.D. in electrochemistry, nanotechnology, or materials science
- Minimum 1 year experience in lithium batteries
- Expertise in fabrication of Li-based batteries in coin cell and pouch cell levels
- In-depth knowledge of electrochemistry, electrochemical techniques (CV, LSV, EIS etc), batteries, and polymer electrolytes
- Good understanding of nanotechnology, carbon nanocomposites, and materials science is desired
