Job Title: Underwriting Manager

Now Health International is seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to join our team. As an Underwriting Manager, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of our underwriting processes, ensuring that our medical insurance products meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines and manuals to ensure consistency and adherence to underwriting standards.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Head of Underwriting to develop and implement underwriting processes, including the development of underwriting policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to underwriting teams and other stakeholders to ensure awareness and understanding of underwriting standards.
  • Work closely with business development teams to contribute to the strategic direction of our medical plans, ensuring that our pricing and underwriting conditions are commercially viable while providing adequate risk management for the company.
  • Perform underwriting performance analysis of all product lines and participate in the development of policy wordings and new products.
  • Represent the company in meetings with local insurers and engage with local insurers to maintain the company's relationships with them.
  • Prepare all quotations for the assigned region and monitor the FMU process for individual policies in your region.
Requirements:
  • Qualified to degree level in a related subject, such as Actuarial, Mathematics or Statistics, plus additional industry-related qualifications such as LOMA.
  • Highly IT proficient, with expert Excel skills and exposure to Visual Basic.
  • Comprehensive technical underwriting experience gained within the medical insurance industry, with experience of manipulating product and financial data to produce quotations.
  • Business level written and spoken English is essential, with command of Chinese and Mandarin being advantageous.
  • Numerical and analytical skills, able to extract, analyze and manipulate data in order to produce underwriting triangulations.
