High Performance Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team and be responsible for the health of our Linux server platform. This person will participate in the design, deployment, and maintenance of our high-performance platform to support our trading environment.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will automate daily software and hardware tasks while writing and maintaining scripts and tools. Key responsibilities include:
- Investigating new products and techniques to improve efficiency and performance in the environment
- Responsible for architecture and maintenance of a tier-based storage solution
- Management of Akuna's server infrastructure at third-party and local data centers
- Additional day-to-day responsibilities include system analysis, monitoring, and performance tuning, as well as additional support as required
The successful candidate will have a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related experience. They will also possess good English communication skills and advanced experience with a variety of Linux distributions (RedHat, Ubuntu etc.). Additionally, they should have experience in managing and running services within K8s clusters, experience in managing a large-scale AWS Cloud platform environment, and experience in automation of daily software and hardware-related tasks, Python or Bash scripting experience preferred.
Desirable Skills and QualificationsExperience with build and configuration management tools (Ansible/Rundeck, Puppet, Foreman) and experience with system monitoring and alerting tools (Icinga/Nagios, Prometheus, Alertmanager). Experience in virtualization and orchestration platforms like VMware, Kubernetes, and Terraform. Also, experience in supporting a variety of storage platforms/protocols and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tooling. Knowledge of database systems, including PostgreSQL and MySQL, and experience in troubleshooting multicast and TCP-related performance issues.
