Workplace Safety and Health Officer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workplace Safety and Health Officer to play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our workers and clients.

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for formulating and developing our company's safety policy and procedures.
  • Assist and enforce sites to implement site health and safety plans, performing regular audits to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct periodic health and safety training for site personnel, providing guidance on best practices and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of health and safety statistics and incidents, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with Government Agencies on health and safety issues, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and regulations.
  • Investigate all accidents and near-misses, recommending appropriate measures to prevent their occurrence and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Assist Senior Project Manager / Project Manager on all site safety matters, providing expert advice and support.
  • Ensure the Occupational Health Safety management programme is effectively implemented and maintained, promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Conduct and plan safety training awareness programmes, engaging staff and stakeholders to promote a shared understanding of health and safety principles.
Requirements
  • Diploma / Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in construction industry.
  • Possess a valid registration with MOM as Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).
  • Independent with good communication skills, able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Certificate - Design for Safety Appreciation Course.
  • Certificate - Envirionmental Control Officer for Specified Construction Sites.
  • Certificate - Develop Risk Management Implementation Plan.
  • Certificate - WSQ Manage Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites.
  • Certificate - WSQ Manage Work At Height.
  • Must have working experience in HDB projects.
