Job Purpose:


A senior role responsible for driving sustainability initiatives and social responsibility within the organization, focusing on compliance, vendor relationships, and social impact goals.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sustainability strategies, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, factories, and social impact partners, driving compliance and performance improvements.
  • Develop and manage projects related to human rights due diligence, traceability, and social responsibility, ensuring effective execution and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead the development of social impact strategies, goals, and reporting, working closely with the Director/Manager Sustainability.
  • Represent the company in multi-stakeholder groups, including external stakeholders, government officials, and NGOs, as directed by management.
  • Manage regular reporting requirements and escalate potential crisis situations to management as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain a global perspective, ensuring cultural sensitivity and awareness in all sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead initiatives and project teams, demonstrating leadership capability, including the ability to motivate and mentor others within the work group.
  • Oversee the relationship with social impact nonprofit partners, including attending monthly calls, steering committee meetings, and summits.
  • Work closely with in-country Sustainability Managers to ensure successful execution and ongoing operations of social impact initiatives.
  • Research and pilot new programmatic opportunities, ensuring alignment with company goals and social responsibility.


Competencies and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Social Studies, or a related field.
  • 8 years or above experience in the field of social responsibility, either at an audit firm or a retailer (auditing, developing, or enforcing remediation).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong information-seeking skills and a drive to make things happen.
  • Ability to understand challenges or underlying concerns, share ideas, and develop effective responses or elevate to higher management.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group.
  • Ability to network, influence, and utilize internal and external resources.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
