News and Current Affairs Video Producer Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a skilled News and Current Affairs Video Producer.

The role involves creating engaging video content related to news and current affairs, with a focus on the Chinese community in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pitching, researching, and producing video content that resonates with the target audience.
  • Scriptwriting, filming, and editing mobile-first videos optimized for social media platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and WeChat.
  • Developing engaging formats such as street interviews, explainer videos, and mini-documentaries/features.
  • Managing and executing pre and post-production of videos, including researching visual and sound content, filming on location, editing videos, creating graphics for web and mobile video content, and archiving footage.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Degree holders with 3-4 years of experience in journalism and/or film/video production.
  • Intermediate or advanced videography, video editing, and motion graphic skills would be advantageous.
  • Keen interest in news and current affairs, including events in China and other Mandarin-speaking regions.
  • Effectively bilingual in Chinese and English.
  • Deep understanding of the Singapore Chinese community's interests, pain points, and culture.
  • Strong research skills and basic understanding of social media analytics.
  • Proficient in mobile filming and editing apps.
  • Competency in Adobe Creative Suite - Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator etc.
  • Analytical thinker with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Able to adapt quickly to different and fast-paced work environments.
  • Able to work independently and as a team player.
  • Able to work irregular hours and within tight time constraints.
