The Application Security team operates within the Cyber Security division at Grab, dedicated to safeguarding our applications and data while keeping pace with our rapid business expansion.

Role Overview

We are in search of an individual who is enthusiastic about leveraging new technologies (such as LLM) and innovative practices to enhance and redefine the Application Security function.

This position will report to the Head of Application Security and will involve mentoring and guiding a team of security engineers tasked with ensuring the security of applications and services through threat modeling, specification assessments, code evaluations, and penetration testing. A successful candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and a strong passion for cybersecurity. This role is crucial as we prioritize our mission and seek an exceptional individual to oversee code evaluations and coordinate penetration testing and potential red teaming for various systems.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of security engineers responsible for the Application Security of various Grab apps and services, including threat modeling, specification assessments, code evaluations, and penetration testing.
  • Collaborate with Cyber Security leadership to define and implement the application security strategy, aiming to cultivate a self-sustaining Application Security mindset.
  • Ensure effective stakeholder management to foster positive impacts and build trust.
  • Initiate improvements to the application security posture of Grab services, raising the baseline standards.
  • Work with external vendors to facilitate third-party security attestations necessary for regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with other Cyber Security sectors to streamline processes and eliminate gaps, aligning with Grab's business needs, security industry standards, and data protection regulations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Embody the values of Heart, Hunger, Honour, and Humility.
  • Over 10 years of experience in the security industry, particularly in web and mobile application security, with a solid understanding of the security and threat landscape.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure.
  • Strong grasp of defense-in-depth methodologies.
  • Ability to devise technical solutions and utilize existing tools to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, GoLang, or C++.
  • Extensive knowledge of penetration testing tools and methodologies for web and mobile applications.
  • Passionate about exploring emerging technologies, including LLM and AR.
