Nurse Manager Job Description

The Nurse Manager plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations, enhancements and improvements of clinical nursing services within the healthcare facility.

He/she oversees a team of registered nurses, enrolled nurses, nursing aides and healthcare assistants to ensure safe, high-quality, efficient and cost-effective care is delivered to residents and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate teamwork in total resident's care with the care staff, delivering quality service to residents, relatives and visitors.
  • Identify needs for improvement in delivery of service and standard of care by maintaining direct resident contact and involvement in resident's care.
Quality Standards

To effectively coordinate, manage and evaluate the services of the facility, ensuring that high standards of nursing care and resident safety are delivered at all times in accordance with legal, professional and health care requirements.

Maintain self-development through continuing education, participating as a member of the health team via attending relevant ward rounds, meetings and team conferences, and involved in discussion of resident-related issues.

Administration

Assess and coordinate residents for new admission referral and prior discharge from hospitalization. Oversee the staff planning roster to ensure sufficient staff coverage in accordance to the effectiveness of delivering quality nursing care to the residents.
