Commodity Trade Executive

Are you a motivated professional seeking a new challenge in commodity trade? We are currently looking for an experienced Commodity Trade Executive to join our team.

As a Commodity Trade Executive, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end trade execution activities for assigned commodity platforms. This includes coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely execution of contracts and shipments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and issue contracts post-trade validation, and liaise with the trading desk to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to manage shipments in line with contractual terms.

This includes:

  • Freight bookings and vessel tracking.
  • Reviewing shipment plans.
  • Sending vessel nominations and shipping instructions.
  • Appointing surveyors for loading/discharge.
  • Handling letters of credit.
  • Managing shipment tenders.
  • Preparing and negotiating shipping documents to ensure timely and accurate settlements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely data entry in the trading system, ensuring contract execution status is up to date.
  • Manage demurrage and insurance claims related to assigned shipments.
  • Monitor and close aging files, including laytime and other receivables/accruals.
  • Provide proactive support to the business by identifying risks, proposing mitigation strategies, and delivering practical solutions.

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a commodity trading environment.
  • Solid understanding of Incoterms, UCP/ISBP rules, GAFTA, and Charter Party terms.
