Senior Firewall Administrator

Our organization is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing Level 2 support for firewall and intrusion prevention systems, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
As a network engineer, you will collaborate with other engineers to support both network and security devices across multiple campus locations. You will also be responsible for managing and maintaining firewall policies, rules, and configurations in accordance with security best practices.
Responsibilities:- Provide Level 2 support for firewall and intrusion prevention systems
- Collaborate with other engineers to support network and security devices
- Manage and maintain firewall policies, rules, and configurations
- Perform incident response and remediation for security events
- Support centralized network administration for switches, routers, wireless controllers, and other network equipment
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in firewall administration and network support
- Strong knowledge of firewall platforms (e.g. Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower)
- Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs)
- Experience with intrusion prevention systems (IPS) and security monitoring tools
- Familiarity with ITSM/ITOM platforms for incident and change management
As a network engineer, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with multiple campus locations. You may be required to work on-site at institutions within a 3-5 km radius. You will also be collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Level 1 and Level 3 support.
