AV Technician Role Overview

This is a key role within our organization, focusing on the provision of audiovisual support to schools. As an AV technician, you will play a vital part in ensuring that events and meetings are executed smoothly and efficiently.

About This Job

This position involves setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV equipment within school premises. You will be responsible for providing technical support for lighting, audio, video, and stage requirements for events organized by the Authority or external organizations. Additionally, you will support school staff in setting up AV equipment for events, meetings, and lessons as required. Other tasks include assisting teachers with video recording of school events and lessons when needed, managing AV resources, performing routine inspections and maintenance of projectors, speakers, microphones, and other AV equipment, conducting annual hardware maintenance, investigating equipment faults, and developing user guides for common AV setups where necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate AV equipment for events, meetings, and lessons
  • Provide technical support for lighting, audio, video, and stage requirements
  • Support school staff in setting up AV equipment
  • Assist teachers with video recording of school events and lessons
  • Manage AV resources, including condemnation of obsolete equipment and administering the loan of AV equipment
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of AV equipment
  • Conduct annual hardware maintenance, including troubleshooting and basic repairs
  • Investigate equipment faults and recommend corrective actions
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require relevant skills and experience in AV equipment handling and systems, proficiency in operating and simple troubleshooting of audiovisual equipment, familiarity with audio and video editing software, and ability to work effectively in a team environment. A Diploma or equivalent qualification in a related field is preferred, along with at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time role working from Monday to Friday, 7am to 4:30pm. The location is East Singapore.
